London District Launch
Members of the Circuit were present for the launch of the new London District at Westminster Central Hall on 2nd September.
The day began with the inaugural District Synod in the morning, followed after lunch by a celebration service which reflected the diversity of theological and cultural traditions in the district.
During the service the Superintendent Minister, Senior Circuit Steward Eula Harrison and Miss Sophia Weary brought forward a poster representing the life of circuit. Along with similar posters from the other circuits this was bound into a book - one of the most moving parts of the service was the presentation of the book to the assembled congregation, which spontaneously burst into applause.
Each church in the circuit was presented with a special cross bearing the logo of the London District.
We were also proud of the reference made to the Second Chance shop by Rev Ermal Kirby, Chair of the District, in his sermon.
The day concluded with an evening concert.
